SYNOPSIS :

The results of TLA’s 2010 short film contest have been announced this month. Here my team presents you with the award winning pack (but be warned: top prize winner I Want Your Love is DEFINITELY NSFW, unless you work in a sauna or a sex shop).

If this winning film, Travis Mathews’ sexually explicit take on two gay best friends crossing the line, suggests rather a lot of sweaty palms among voters, there’s actually real variety in the top 3. Christopher Ludgate’s The Love Permit is a social satire on the fight for equality and gay marriage, with shades of Kafka, while The Golden Pin is a drama about a Vietnamese-Canadian swimmer struggling with his sexuality

SYNOPSIS :

A chance meeting between two guys develops into a relationship, which the viewer gets to see from beginning to (maybe) end—via a series of fragmented scenes.


Independent filmmaker Todd Verow has created one of his best (and most sexual) films to date with this edgy, fragmented telling of a troubled relationship. Set in a New York City summer, thirty-something Sean meets the illusive Wolf, an Eastern European immigrant on a West Village pier. What begins as a purely sexual thing, eventually changes into what can best be described as an intense, but dysfunctional relationship. Wolf, a straight-acting prostitute and Sean, a needy, talkative neurotic – are not the best fit for an affair but the two men attempt to make a go of it. When Sean becomes increasingly jealous of his lover’s frequent absences, his paranoia, fueled by drug use, threatens their budding love. Will the two be able to solve their problems and develop as lovers, or was it all just a sexual fling extended way too long? The story is told in a straightforward structure, but Verow adds in additional characters, asides and even an alternative ending! Raw, indy gay cinema at its best.

Nhà làm phim độc lập  Todd Verow đã sáng tạo nên 1 trong những phim hay nhất  ( và cũng gợi tình nhất ) cho đến nay  của anh với lối kể  chuyện góc cạnh & phân mảnh về 1 mối quan hệ rắc rối .   Được đặt trong bối cảnh 1 mùa hè ở Thành phố New York ,  chàng trai Sean độ tuổi khoảng 30  gặp gỡ  1 gã tên Wolf ảo tưởng , 1 kẻ  nhập cư gốc  Đông Âu trên 1 bến tàu .  Những gì bắt đầu như 1 thứ tình dục tinh khiết , cuối cùng đã thay đổi thành điều mà có thể tốt nhất được miêu tả như 1 mối quan hệ bất lực và mạnh mẽ .  Chàng trai tên Wolf , một gã  " đĩ đực " hành động như 1 tên straight ( trai thẳng )  và  Sean ,  một gã thần kinh nghèo túng và nói nhiều ,  dường như  không hòa hợp nhau nhất  cho chuyện yêu đương , nhưng cả 2 đã nỗ lực để đi đến tình yêu .  Khi Sean trở nên ngày càng nghen tuông vì sự vắng mặt thường  xuyên của người tình  , chứng hoang tưởng của anh , được kích động bằng việc sử dụng ma túy , đã  đe dọa tình yêu vừa chớm nở .  Liêu cả 2 sẽ có thể giải quyết vấn đề của họ và tiến triển như là 1 đôi  tình nhân  hay  tất cả điều đó chỉ như 1  cố gắng về tình dục được kéo dài quá lâu .  Câu chuyện được kể theo 1 cấu trúc cởi mở , nhưng Verow đã thêm vào những nhân vật phụ  , những tiếng nói riêng và thậm chí là 1 kết thúc thay đổi . Thô mộc , một bộ phim   " gay cinema " độc lập hay nhất  ^__^ .

SYNOPSIS :

An excellent piece of European gay cinema! 100 well-spent minutes! "Alex and Leo" proves that a great movie doesn't necessarily need a big budget if the chemistry between the actors is right. And the acting in "Alex and Leo" is wonderful! Hard to say whether German porn icon Marcel Schlutt is a good actor or not, but he's cast perfectly as Leo in this droll romantic comedy that features Spanish actor André Schneider (from "La paz de tus ojos tristes") as his love interest. (Schneider has become a little chubby, but let me tell you, he has the movie world's most beautiful eyes since young Paul Newman!) They fall in love immediately but have some mild trouble in the process of becoming a couple. Of course, "Alex and Leo" has a happy ending. We know it as soon as Schlutt and Schneider meet in a hip Kreutzberg bar, and the movie doesn't ruin our expectations. (A little more nudity from Schlutt and Schneider during their sex scene would have been appreciated, though.) There are some mind-blowing performances from the supporting cast as well (Udo Lutz as Toby the Super-bitch is comedy at its best!), and the music is great, too. A movie that makes me wanna go and see Europe. They seem to have the hottest men on earth.






Phim này poster đẹp mà xem phim thì lại ko hay bằng . Nội dung phim đơn giản thui : 2 người quen nhau tình cờ , sau đó gặp lại , dần dần yêu nhau , rùi xung đột , kết thúc hạnh phúc . Anh Marcel phim này hơi mập 1 tí , tuy nhiên nhìn vẫn dễ thương ( có điều anh này cười hơi xấu tí vì răng ko đẹp ^^ ) , còn anh kia thì bụng có mỡ . Phim này có nhiều cảnh khá là hài và vui , nói chung cũng nên xem cho biết . Túm lại là hơi thất vọng tí vì phim ko hấp dẫn như mong đợi

SYNOPSIS :

This stunningly serious B&W art film tells a story of lost love. Gerardo, a gay teenager, roams the streets of Mexico City in search of someone able to reveal the secret hidden between the lines of a goodbye letter from his ex-lover.


REVIEW

Like cinematic poetry where all the lines are meaningful, but much of the story is between the lines, A Thousand Clouds of Peace is a difficult masterpiece that needs close attention. Gerardo (Ortuño), a stunning actor, wanders the streets of Mexico City searching for the meaning in a letter from his ex-lover Bruno. He thought he had found true love with Bruno, but somehow it wasn't meant to be. Throughout the film Gerardo reads portions of the letter as he sinks further and further into sadness over his lost love. Gerardo goes with other men, but they all bring back memories of his lost love. He discusses it with his waitress pal, but she says get another man. He goes in search of his estranged mother, and she just pushes him away.

Shot on a crisp B&W stock, director Hernández has created a film that will live long past gay film festival showings. A Thousand Clouds of Peace is an inspired art film for aficionados. While the movie has plenty of sexy moments, some nudity and the star is a superb hunk -- that's not why you should attend this screening. See A Thousand Clouds because you want to dive into one of the best gay art films ever. (Spanish with English subtitles)
